If your school processes payroll in advance, such as before a holiday closure period, the super payment will be processed on the day the Payday Super Workflow and Pay Run Checklist is completed. If payroll is completed early, the super payment will also be debited early.
The ATO accepts super contributions being paid in advance.
Example
If an employee is owed $200 in super for one pay run and $400 is paid, the employee is effectively two weeks ahead in super contributions. In this scenario, the school may not need to make an additional super payment for that employee in the next pay run, provided the advance payment correctly covers the required contribution amount.
