Attendance (ATT)
Overview
This module provides the functionality to record student attendance information. There are a variety of ways that student attendance data can be recorded including the following:
TASS.web attendance entry screens (for school administration staff).
Staff Kiosk Online class rollcall (for teachers).
Attendance Self Registration or ASR (for students to self-register when they are late for school, when they depart early or when they have left the school and returned later in the day).
The Staff Kiosk online class rollcall enables teachers to enter their attendance data directly into the TASS.web database from within the classroom. Students arriving late to school can register themselves as late by swiping their school ID cards in the school office and using a touch screen to nominate the reason for being late. Administrators can check and edit daily absences using TASS.web before sending absentee notifications directly to parents' mobile phones via an SMS Gateway. Parents can track their students' attendance records over the Internet using the TASS Parent Lounge.
User-definable absentee reasons may be flagged as acceptable or unacceptable. Parents can be notified when their students are away for non-acceptable reasons for which no notification has been received by the school.
The Daily Inquiry program provides administrators with instant access to all of the absent students for the current day.
Staff Kiosk Homepage > Today's Absentees is available for teachers to view attendance data for students that match their nominated criteria.
Bulk absentee entries are supported. This enables single entry of absentees for multiple students for events such as school excursions and camps.
Recurring absentees are also supported. This is a significant time-saver for entering absentees that spread over a date range such as family holidays or extended sick periods. There is logic built into the software to skip public holidays if they occur within a recurring period.
Attendance.web provides powerful analysis tools, both report and graphically based. Analysis is available by school sections, by absentee type and with user exception parameter input.
School defined roll call periods include daily, AM or PM, or by nominated timetable periods.
The various methods of attendance data collection and management provide for a comprehensive end-to-end attendance solution that is fully integrated to compliment an extensive student record.
