ATT - Exception Report

Exception Report Overview

This report provides a listing of student absences by absence type.

It can be run for a nominated date range or period. The data produced is displayed in a spreadsheet-style format.

Because it is an exception report you can insert criteria before running the report, e.g. All students who have been absent from school for more than 5 days.

General Tab

Absence Exception Report

Selection criteria can be entered into this tab to filter the data produced in the report. A 'Start Date', 'End Date', 'Start Year/Period' and 'End Year/Period' must be entered for the report to be generated.

If you enter a 'Start Date' or an 'End Date' the associated year and period will be calculated for you. Alternatively, if you enter either a 'Start Year/Period' or 'End Year/Period' the associated dates will be calculated for you.

Exception Criteria

'Exception Criteria' allow you to specify the desired data range, e.g. All students who have been absent from school for more than 5 days.

Click here for an Administrator Note.

The criteria that are displayed here are the Absentee Types that are defined in TASS.web program Student Admin > Attendance > Setup Information > Attendance Setup on the 'General' tab. These are defined as the 'main absentee types' and a column is printed for each on the report.

The 'Other Absence Type' field allows you to select 'other' absence types from the dropdown menu that are not one of the main 7 absence types.

The 'Other' column will not display any data in the report unless an absent type is selected from the drop-down menu.

A value must be entered into at least one of the 'Exception Criteria' fields for the report to be generated.

Only the students who exceed the 'Exception Criteria' nominated in the 'General' tab will be displayed on the report.

You can opt to exclude students who were away for acceptable reasons such as school excursions. Absentee reasons are setup using TASS.web program Student Admin > Attendance > Setup Information > Attendance Setup.

Print Tab

The 'Print' tab allows you to choose the 'destination' of the report. This can be to Adobe® PDF viewer, Microsoft Excel® or Microsoft Word®.

The 'Print' tab is also used to format the report. Sorting options are available on the left side of the screen.

If you want to include a page break after each change in data based on your selected sort order, tick the 'Page Break by Sort Field', e.g. A new page for each 'Year Group'.

Use the checkboxes on the right side of the screen to indicate your preference for displaying 'Alternate Row Colours' and 'Table Borders'. These can enhance the readability of the report.
