Address Validation API
Overview
The ‘Address Validation API’ helps verify and match addresses upon entry, storing automatic address tokens and geocoding data.
This API improves government reporting and communication, and ensures your data remains consistent. It reduces the capture of incorrect address data by verifying information entered by parents and administrators against known Australian postal addresses. Once activated, a bulk validation tool allows you to clean up all parent addresses in your school's TASS database, while geocoding with GPS coordinates provides enrolment teams with 'heat mapping' features and visual insights into where prospective students are coming from.
This API can be activated and managed by navigating to TASS.web System Admin > Utilities > API Gateway Maintenance on the ‘External APIs' tab.

User Security Permissions
Access to this program requires users to have the ‘--- Address Validation’ permission point assigned in TASS.web System Admin > Users > User Maintenance or TASS.web System Admin > Users > Security Role Permissions.
How to Enable the Address Validation Gateway
Enabling this API activates address checking and matching during data entry for Parent Records, Enrolled Parent Records, Employee Records, Past Student Records, and Donor Records. Additionally, address tokens will be stored with the address data, along with address geocoding.
Navigate to TASS.web System Admin > Utilities > API Gateway Maintenance. Click ‘View' in the Action column next to Address Validation on the ‘External APIs' tab.
Select ‘Edit’, then select the checkbox next to ‘Would you like to enable this API?’.
By enabling this API, you are acknowledging that address data will be transferred to this Gateway for validation.
Click ‘Save’ to activate the API.
Submit a Software Support ticket to notify Customer Care that you completed this step. Customer Care will liaise with AddressFinder (Certified Integration Partner) to activate your account and inform you when this step is complete.
You will then be able to use this feature to check addresses when entering new data in:
TASS.web Student Admin > Parent Records > Parent Information > Parents on the ‘Address’ tab
TASS.web Finance > Parent Accounts > Account Information > Parent Account Enquiry on the ‘Address’ tab.
TASS.web Student Admin > Enrolments > Enrolment Information > Enrolments for Enrolled Parent Records on the ‘Address’ tab.
TASS.web Student Admin > Past Students > Student Information > Past Students on the ‘Address’ tab.
TASS.web Finance > Fundraising > Donors > Donor Information > Donors on the ‘Address’ tab.
TASS.web Payroll HRM > Employee/HR > Employee Information > Employees on the ‘Address’ tab.
TASS.web Payroll HRM > Payroll > Employee Information > Employees on the ‘Address’ tab.
Parent Lounge Parent Details > Address Details.
You can run the ‘Bulk Address Validation’ program to check which addresses have tokens and which don't. This program displays the number of non-tokenised addresses and the number of already tokenised addresses. This helps you determine which addresses need to be tokenised. This program can be accessed through TASS.web System Admin > Utilities > Bulk Address Validation.
User Security Permissions
To enable this API, users must have the ‘View' and ‘Edit’ permissions assigned to the '--- Address Validation' security point in TASS.web System Admin > Users > User Maintenance or TASS.web System Admin > Users > Security Role Permissions.
