Payday Super Gateways API

Coming Soon!

This API connection will be available in the v01.2026.06.200 general release. To join our testing group and gain early access, contact TASS Customer Care. Refer to the TASS Release Notes for details.

Overview

The ‘Payday Super Gateways’ program enables API integration between TASS.web and the Payday Super gateway provider, OZEDI, to transfer employee and superannuation contribution data for processing via SuperStream.

Before setting up these parameters, follow the steps in the Setting up Payday Super’ article.

Enabling the Payday Super Processing program and workflow is optional, but highly beneficial. This feature simplifies compliance with Payday Super requirements by seamlessly integrating tasks into your existing TASS pay run workflows. The cost of the API connection to OZEDI is included in your school’s TASS license, making it a convenient addition. If you prefer to, your school can continue using existing superannuation payment methods, as long as your internal processes and clearing house(s) meet the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Payday Super and SuperStream deadlines. However, consider that TASS.web Payday Super Processing ensures smooth, compliant payments with minimal effort.

To compare all methods and aid decision making, refer to How do I pay Employee Superannuation Contributions? for more information.

Click here for an Administrator Note.

User Security Permissions

Access to this API program is controlled by the '--- Payday Super Processing' security point in the Administration section of TASS.web System Admin > Users > User Maintenance or TASS.web System Admin > Users > Security Role Permissions.

To use this API, users must also have ‘View’ and ‘Edit’ permissions assigned for the 'Payday Super Processing' security point in the Payroll section.

Contact your school’s TASS System Administrator for access.

General Tab

The ‘General’ tab of the Payday Super Gateways program is where you enter your API connection details and confirm your awareness of the activated facility.

Click the ‘Edit’ icon at the top of the screen to make changes to these details.

Payday Super Gateway Details

Field Label

Description

Payday Super Gateway

Use the ‘Payday Super Gateway' field to select the Payday Super provider that you want to use for this connection.

OZEDI is currently the only available provider.

Refer to the OZEDI website for more information about their Superstream & Superannuation Messaging Network.

Client ID

During the initial setup process, leave this field blank.

Clicking ‘Save’ creates a new OZEDI customer client ID via the API connection. This Client ID then appears in this field and is used for all subsequent API requests.

The ‘Client ID’ field is not editable from the TASS interface. This ID links to your school's ABN and should only be updated if your school's ABN changes. To update this OZEDI Client ID, contact TASS Customer Care for assistance.

Payroll Contact Email

Enter the email address you want associated with your OZEDI Payday Super API account, up to 60 characters.

By default, this field populates with the 'Contact Email' from TASS.web Payroll HRM > Payroll > Setup Information > Payroll Setup on the 'General' tab. You can choose to keep this email address or update it to a different address for OZEDI correspondence.

The email address entered here will receive communications from OZEDI about account creation and throughout the Payday Super Workflow. It can be updated as needed, for example, when staffing changes occur.

Acknowledgement

Field Label

Description

* Would you like to enable this API?

Select the ‘Would you like to enable this API?’ checkbox to acknowledge that enabling this API transfers employee and super contribution data to the Payday Super Gateway for processing via SuperStream.

Once enabled, it cannot be disabled from the TASS interface. To disable this API, contact TASS Customer Care for assistance.

Upon entering data for the first time, click ‘Save’, or when updating existing data, click ‘Update’ to save your changes.

When the user selects the 'Would you like to enable this API?' box in the Acknowledgement section and clicks 'Save', the system initiates the 'Authenticate' and 'Register Client' API calls to connect with the OZEDI Authentication Service. If these calls succeed, the user is redirected to the Payday Super Gateways screen. If they fail, an error message appears that explains the issue to the user.

Testing the Payday Super Gateway

Click the ‘Test’ icon to test your API Gateway connection. The ‘Payday Super Gateway Test’ pop-up screen will then appear with the following details about the test.
