Orbit Dashboard

Overview

The Orbit Dashboard provides schools with valuable usage statistics for their Orbit apps.

The ‘Parent Statistics’ tab allows you to view and interact with parent statistics related to the Parent Orbit app and device usage.

The ‘Communication Log’ tab allows you to view the history of notifications sent to the Parent Orbit and Staff Orbit apps.

Parent Statistics tab

This screen provides valuable statistics about the current usage of your Parent Orbit app.

This tab allows you to interact with parent-specific statistics related to parents and device usage.

Where the count of the statistic is greater than zero, a ‘See More →’ link is available. Click the ‘See More → ' link to load the Parent Statistics screen and display the relevant data.

Statistics	Description
Total Parent Devices Registered	The number of registered parent devices logged in the Parent Orbit app. (Current parents with access to Parent Lounge).
Total Parents Not Registered	The number of parents (including split families) where the parent is current and has access to Parent Lounge but does not have a device registered against their parent code.
Active Login Sessions	The number of active login sessions for each parent account. Click the ‘Rubbish Bin' icon in the Action column to delete active login sessions.
Expired Login Sessions	The number of expired login sessions.
Push Notifications Enabled	The number of parent devices with Push Notifications enabled.
Push Notifications Not Enabled	The number of parent devices with Push Notifications not enabled.
Apple Registered Devices	The number of iOS devices.
Android Registered Devices	The number of Android devices.
Current Parents Without a PL License	The number of parent records that do not have access to Parent Lounge.
Current Parents With a PL License	The number of parent records that do have access to Parent Lounge.

To activate the ‘I want to..’ button, simply tick any checkbox in the ‘All’ column. You can also select all users in the column by ticking the ‘All’ checkbox. After making your selections, click the ‘I want to...’ button to ‘Generate Emails’ or 'Send SMS Messages' to the selected users.

Generate Emails

To send an email to the selected recipients, double-check that you have selected the correct recipients, then click ‘Next.’

Email Templates can be created in TASS.web System Admin > Utilities > Email Settings on the ‘Email Templates’ tab. For Email Templates to appear in this program, their Category must be set to ‘Parent Orbit’.

When an email cannot be sent, a red alert icon will be displayed in the 'Email' column. Hover over this icon for more information about why an email will not be sent.

Send SMS Messages

To send an SMS message to the selected recipients, type your message into the 'Message Text' field. Use the 'Check Spelling' button to proofread your text, then click 'GO' to send your message.

Only mobile phone numbers with the 'SMS' flag selected in TASS.web Student Admin > Parent Records > Parent Information > Parents on the 'Addresses' tab will be included.

When an SMS cannot be sent, a red alert icon will be displayed in the 'SMS' column. Hover over this icon for more information about why an SMS will not be sent.

To send SMS messages from TASS.web, you must have the SMS Gateway setup. For more information, refer to System Admin > Utilities > API Gateway Maintenance > External APIs > SMS Gateway APIs.

SMS messages are not free. Your school will be charged a fee by your SMS provider for each message that is sent.

Communication Logs tab

All notifications sent to Parent Orbit and Staff Orbit are recorded in this Communication Log.

The Communication Log allows you to track and monitor the details of communications, including who they have been sent to and whether the recipients have acknowledged them.

Use the filtering options at the top of the screen to refine your search criteria.

User Permissions

Users can access the Orbit Dashboard when the following user permissions are assigned in TASS.web System Admin > Users > Security Role Permissions.
