MER - Non Script Medication Tab (SU)
Overview
This tab allows users to enter and manage the non-prescription (non-script) medications that appear in the following TASS.web medication dispensing programs:
Student Admin > Medical Records > Student Information > Student Medical on the ‘Illness’ tab.
Student Admin > Medical Records > Student Information > Student Illness/Daily Log.
Student Admin > Medical Records > Student Information > Dispense Student Medication.
Non-script medications are medications that the school keeps available for students who require treatment at school. They can be administered to students when required.
Examples: Paracetamol, topical antibacterial cream, Ventolin or an EpiPen.
Non-Prescription Medication Grid
Column | Description |

Name of Medication | The name of the medication. |
Method of Use | The method of use for the medication. |
Medication Details | Further details about how to dispense the medication. |
Action | From this column, you can view, edit, and delete medication records. Click the ‘View’ link to view more information about the medication. Click the ‘Edit’ link to modify data for the medication. Click ‘Delete’ to delete the medication. After medication has been dispensed to a student, it cannot be deleted. |

*Medication Name | Enter the name of the medication, up to 200 characters. This could either be the brand or the scientific name of the medication. Examples: Paracetamol or Panadol®, Ibuprofen or Nurofen®. Each school will have different requirements for what needs to be recorded here. For more information, please refer to your school's medication guidelines. |
Method of Use | Enter the method or route used to dispense the medication, up to 200 characters. Examples: oral, topical, inhalation, nasal. Each school will have different requirements for what needs to be recorded here. Please refer to your school's medication guidelines for more information. |
Further Details | Enter any further information about the medication, up to 200 characters. Further information could include the dosage requirements, or how and when to dispense the medication. Examples: 2x 10mg tablets at 10 am daily until further notice, or 10mls of liquid at 12pm daily with food until the bottle is finished. Each school will have different requirements for what needs to be recorded here. Please refer to your school's medication guidelines for more information. |
Minimum Time between Doses | Use this field to specify the time interval that must lapse before administering the next dose of the medication. If staff attempt to dispense medication to students within this time frame, a warning message will appear in the medication dispensing programs. |
Related Medical UD | Use this field to select a Student ‘Medical User Defined (UD) Data’ field that is related to this medication. The information from this field will then appear in the medication dispensing programs when this medication is dispensed. Student ‘Medical User Defined Data’ fields can be viewed in TASS.web Student Admin > Medical Records > Student Information > Student Medical on ‘General’ tab. Student ‘Medical User Defined Data’ fields are setup in TASS.web Student Admin > Medical Records > Setup Information > Medical Setup on the ‘User Defined’ tab. Refer to the ‘User Defined tab’ article for more information. |
Click ‘Save’ to save this non-script medication to the database.
