Setting up Parent Lounge - Part 1
This video walks administrators through Part 1 of setting up Parent Lounge after upgrading to version 43.3, focusing on activating new functionality and reviewing existing settings for schools that already had Parent Lounge in place. It introduces the refreshed Parent Lounge interface, including the new homepage layout, top menu, homepage menu navigation, branding options, and image carousel. The video then demonstrates how to enable parent access to new menu options using Staff Kiosk, how to use TASS.web online help and checklists to guide the process, and how to configure the Parent Lounge homepage by setting welcome messages, slider behaviour, visible menu items, display names, and menu order so parents see relevant information immediately after logging in.
Setting up Parent Lounge - Part 2
This video is Part 2 of the Parent Lounge setup series after upgrading to version 43.3, focusing on the financial configuration of the “Make a Payment” parent account page in Parent Lounge. It explains how schools using online payments must update parent account parameters in TASS.web, so published statements display correctly to parents, including balances, discounts, voluntary building funds and additional levies. The video walks through selecting statement display options, publishing existing statements to Parent Lounge, correctly unflagging and re‑flagging transactions, and validating the parent experience on the payment page. It also highlights important changes required for future auto account billing runs, including mandatory statement publishing, updated flagging procedures, and new tools for managing published statements, ensuring parents see accurate financial information and can pay with confidence.
Setting up Parent Lounge - Part 3
This video is Part 3 of the four‑part series on setting up Parent Lounge after upgrading to version 43.3, and focuses on reviewing and configuring key Parent Lounge settings for schools that already had the portal in place. It guides administrators through Step 4 of the upgrade checklist in TASS.web, covering password reset options (including when reset links are available or restricted by single sign‑on), notification settings for password changes, and the configuration of the Parent Directory. The video demonstrates how parents access and control directory visibility, explains the use of disclaimers and filtering by campus or year group, and then walks through Steps 5 and 6, which involve enabling external portal access such as Sports Fixtures and Results or the Business Directory via Product Activation Maintenance, typically in collaboration with IT staff.
Setting up Parent Lounge - Part 4
This final video in the four‑part series shows how to customise the look and feel of Parent Lounge so it aligns with your school’s branding and provides a polished, consistent experience for parents. It demonstrates the full process of configuring logos, banners and homepage image sliders, including recommended image sizes, upload options and activation controls, before moving on to applying colour schemes using the Product UI Maintenance tools in TASS.web. The video explains the different display options for logos and banners, how to create seamless visual transitions across devices, how to manage slider images with captions and ordering, and how to apply and refine colour themes (including auto‑adjust themes and transparent toolbars) to ensure the portal feels like a natural extension of your school’s systems.
