Troubleshooting Reporting Periods

‘Reporting Periods’ are also known as ‘Result Periods’ in TASS.web.

The ‘Reporting Period Description’ (also known as ‘Result Period Description’) can be edited in TASS.web Student Admin > Academic Reporting > Setup information > Assessment Setup on the ‘Result Periods' tab.

Reporting Periods are displayed to users when the following criteria are met:

  • The user has been assigned to the ‘Reporting Period’.
TASS.web Student Admin > Academic Reporting > Setup Information > Reporting User Maintenance > Assign Reporting Periods.

  • The user has been given the appropriate User Access Level.
TASS.web Student Admin > Academic Reporting > Setup Information > Reporting User Maintenance > Maintain User Access Levels.

For more information, refer to Why can't I see the current Reporting Period in Markbook?

Available Reporting Periods - Single or Multiple

A single reporting period may only be made accessible to staff, or multiple reporting periods may be made accessible, either concurrently or separately.

For example:

  • Reports for Years 11 and 12 might need to be completed earlier than Years 9 and 10 reports. These would need to be set up as separate Reporting Periods and Teachers would need access to both.

  • Whilst operating in Semester 1, Teachers may also need access to the Semester 2 reporting period to assess activities and enter or calculate final results across both periods.

Single Reporting Period

Multiple Reporting Periods

  • Semester 1 Results Period is set up in TASS.web and opened in Staff Kiosk.

  • Teachers add and assess student Activities and enter or calculate final results.

  • Semester 1 academic reports are produced, the reporting period is archived, and the Semester 1 result period is closed.

  • Semester 2 Results period is then set up and managed in the same way.

  • Both Semesters 1 and 2 Results Periods are set up in TASS.web and both are open to Teachers in Staff Kiosk.

  • Teachers add and assess student Activities for the Semester 1 period. Semester 2 activities may also be added and assessed.

  • Final Results are entered or calculated for Semester 1.

  • Semester 1 academic reports are produced, the reporting period is archived, and the Semester 1 result period is closed.

  • Staff continue to work in the Semester 2 Reporting period.

  • Semester 2 academic reports are produced, and the reporting period is archived and closed.
