Application Parameters (Setup)

Overview

The ‘Application Parameters (Setup)’ program is used to enable and configure the online Leave/Other Applications facility in Staff Kiosk Payroll/HR.

This program can be accessed by navigating to the Staff Kiosk Payroll/HR menu.

The Online Leave/Other Applications facility requires TASS.web Payroll to be enabled.

User Security Permissions

Users can access ‘Application Parameters (Setup)' when the 'Application Parameters (Setup)’ user permission is assigned in TASS.web System Admin > Users > Portal Security Permissions for Staff Kiosk.

Fields that require further explanation

Enable Leave/Other Applications

Set this to 'Yes' to enable employees to submit online Leave/Other Applications using Staff Kiosk Payroll/HR > My Payroll/HR > Leave / Other Applications.

School Name for Other Applications

Enter the description that will be used to describe applications for absences not covered by Payroll Leave Types, e.g. 'Inservice Application'.

This text appears in the software instead of the word ‘Other’ when referencing ‘Other Applications’.

Enable Integration to Teacher Substitutions

Set this to 'Yes' to enable integration between Leave/Other Applications and the Leave & Substitutions module in TASS.web.

Ensure teacher substitutions are set up in TASS.web before enabling this feature. See How to Setup Teacher Substitutions for details.

By enabling this field, a teacher can:

  • Indicate the lessons they will be absent from (where a 'Part Day' application is selected).

  • Enter the Class Task information in advance.

Submitted Leave/Other Applications will then appear in TASS.web Student Admin > Teacher Records > Leave & Substitutions > Daily Substitutions ready for allocation of class covers.

Teacher substitutions can only be entered for the current Year and Semester specified for the timetable in TASS.web Student Admin > Timetable > Setup Information > Timetable Setup on the ‘Timetable’ tab.

When selecting a 'Part Day' application in the Leave / Other Applications program, teachers must specify their absent periods for this integration to function.

Attachment # - Description and Attachment #

(1 to 5)

Up to five attachment fields can be used to distribute documents to employees in Staff Kiosk Payroll/HR > My Payroll/HR > Leave / Other Applications via the ‘Help’ button.

Use the ‘Attachment # - Description’ field to rename the description of each 'Application Attachment'.

Two options are available to attach a file in the ‘Attachment #’ field:

  1. Drag and drop a file from your computer.

  2. Use the 'Choose' button to locate the file.

To view an existing file, click the ‘View’ button.

To modify an existing file, click the ‘+Replace’ button, select a new file, and then click ‘Save’.

To delete an existing file, click the ‘Delete’ button.

Default Approval Text

Enter the text that will automatically populate the 'Approver's Comment' field when approving an application in Staff Kiosk Payroll/HR > My Payroll/HR > My Staff Leave/Other Applications.

Example

An example might be: Application Approved.

Default New Draft Text

Enter the text that will automatically populate the 'Details of Leave' field when entering a 'Draft Application' on behalf of another employee using Staff Kiosk Payroll/HR > My Payroll/HR > My Staff Leave/Other Applications.

Example

An example might be 'Creating a draft application for'.

Select the 'Save' button to record your entry to the database.
