Rollcall

Overview

The Staff Kiosk ‘Rollcall’ menu brings together the tools teachers and administrators use to manage class and non-class attendance, configure custom roll behaviour, and drive emergency workflows.

This menu can be accessed by navigating to the Staff Kiosk Toolbar, and selecting ‘Rollcall’.

User Security Permissions

Access to the programs within this menu is controlled by security points in the ‘Rollcall’ section of TASS.web System Admin > Users > Portal Security Permissions for Staff Kiosk. Each program has its own separate security point. Refer to the relevant program article for more information or contact your school’s TASS System Administrator for access.

About the Rollcall Menu

There are four programs in the Rollcall menu:

The Class Rollcall program lets teachers view their timetable for the day and quickly mark, edit or view official attendance rolls for their own, substituted and (if enabled) other teachers’ classes, with direct access to related classroom tools via the hamburger menu.

The Custom Rolls program supports one-off and recurring rolls for flexible groups of students that do not affect official Attendance data, with options to filter, print, communicate with parents and students, assign admin rights, and cancel existing rolls.

Behind the scenes, the Custom Roll Parameters (Setup) program controls how Custom Rolls behave—naming, edit windows, default attendance state, ‘Mark All’ toggles and SMS-on-save rules.

The Emergency Types (Setup) program defines the Emergency Types used in the Staff Orbit app, including the default push notifications, student and staff Custom Roll generation rules and campus targeting when an emergency is initiated.
