Introduction to User Definable Fields in TASS.web Video
This video introduces user-defined (UD) fields in TASS.web, explaining how schools can create and manage custom data fields to record additional information about students, parents, and specific areas such as medical, extracurricular, or learning support. It covers where UD fields appear across the system, the three field types (flag, table reference, and freeform text), and how schools set up and maintain them. The video also demonstrates extended UD areas, showing how they function like mini databases for specialised purposes and can trigger alerts, such as notifying staff when a student requires additional classroom support. Finally, it explains how UD fields can be updated individually or in bulk, and how they can be used as search criteria and included in listings and reports to produce targeted, customised outputs.
