Parameters (Setup) (Calendar)

Overview

The Staff Kiosk Calendar > Parameters (Setup) program is used to define the setup parameters for staff and student calendars in Staff Kiosk, Student Café and Parent Lounge.

These parameters must be completed before:

Staff can access Staff Kiosk Calendar > My Calendar.
Students can access Student Café eDiary > Calendars.
Parents can access Parent Lounge Calendar > eDiary.

Important!

The parameters entered here only affect the programs directly above. They do not have any influence on:

Staff Kiosk Calendar > School Calendar.
Parent Lounge School Calendar.
Public Calendar.

User Security Permissions

Access to this program is controlled by the ‘Parameters (Setup)’ security point in the Calendar section of TASS.web System Admin > Users > Portal Security Permissions for Staff Kiosk. Contact your school’s TASS System Administrator for access.

Fields that require further explanation
Start Time for Day and Week Views	This determines where the calendar appears on the page when it is first loaded by a student or staff member Staff and students can use the scroll bar to access time slots before this.
Week starts on	This determines the day in each week that the calendar displays from. Using the example below, this would be set to 'Monday'.
Default View	This determines the view (day, week, month) that the calendar will initially load in for staff in Staff Kiosk and students in Student Café. Staff and students can select a different view by clicking on the appropriate 'Day', 'Month' or 'Agenda' button. The view is sticky; this means the software will remember the view that the staff member or student selects.
Enable editing of past Daily Notices	If this box is ticked, staff can edit past notices in Staff Kiosk Calendar > Daily Notices.
Number of days to display Calendar Events in the Parent Lounge homepage	This determines how many days ahead calendar events will be displayed on the Parent Lounge home page.
Number of days to display School Calendar Events in the Teacher Kiosk homepage	This determines the number of days ahead that calendar events will be displayed on the Staff Kiosk home page in the ‘School Calendar Events’ section. This field refers to the ‘Teacher Kiosk’ portal, which has since been renamed ‘Staff Kiosk.’

Click ‘Save’ to update the Calendar Parameters.
