GL - Bank Accounts Dashboard
Overview
The TASS.web ‘Bank Accounts Dashboard’ provides summary information for each Bank Account you have set up in TASS.web.
It can be accessed by navigating to TASS.web Finance > General Ledger > Cash Book and selecting ‘Bank Accounts Dashboard’ from the side menu.
In this program, you can:
View the current General Ledger Account Balance (which includes unposted journals).
View the Cash Book Balance as at the last completed Bank Reconciliation, with an option to view a Summary reconciliation with the Statement closing balance at this date.
For Banks that have bank feeds enabled, you can also:
View the Statement Balance as at the date of the latest statement transaction uploaded.
Upload Statement Transactions
Reconcile Statement Transactions
View a Line graph of the Statement Balance for the last 10 reconciliation cycles
To use 'Upload Statement Transactions' and 'Reconcile Statement Transactions', you must have enabled bank feeds for your Banks in TASS.web Finance > General Ledger > Setup Information > General Ledger Setup on the 'Bank Accounts' tab.
For Banks that do not have bank feeds enabled, reconciliation is done via TASS.web Finance > General Ledger > Cash Book > Bank Reconciliation.
See 'How to Set up Bank Feeds and Reconcile Statements' for more information.
Check out the ▶️ Bank Feeds and Reconciliation Video for more information about this feature.
Use the 'Bank Reconciliation Guide' to reconcile accounts and resolve imbalances between the Cash Book and the General Ledger.
Bank Account Summary
When you open the Bank Accounts Dashboard, you will see a 'Bank Account Summary' section (box area) for each configured bank account. Each section displays the following details for its account.
The order in which the Bank Accounts appear on the screen is determined by the ‘Dashboard Sort Number' defined in TASS.web Finance > General Ledger > Setup Information > General Ledger Setup on the 'Bank Accounts' tab.
Bank Accounts without Bank Feeds enabled display a yellow warning icon.
Fields that require further explanation (per bank account) | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bank Logo | The bank's logo can be displayed at the top of each boxed section. This can be uploaded from TASS.web Finance > General Ledger > Setup Information > General Ledger Setup on the 'Bank Accounts' tab. | ||||||
Bank Account Balance Graph | The line graph in the Bank Account Summary shows the Bank Account Balance history for the defined periods. The balance amount appears on the graph's vertical Y-axis. The date appears on the graph's horizontal X-axis (bottom) in DD-MON-YY format. Hover over the line to view the exact bank account balance on each date. | ||||||
GL Account Balance | The ‘GL Account Balance’ shows the total General Ledger Account balance, including unposted GL Journals. Hover over the info icon to see the portion from unposted GL Journals. | ||||||

Upload Statement Transactions
Use the ‘Upload Statement Transactions’ screen to upload statement transactions that have been downloaded from your Bank in CSV format.
This screen can be accessed from the hamburger menu in the top-right corner of the Bank Account Summary section or by using the ‘Click here to Upload Statement Transactions’ link in the Statement Balance field of the Bank Summary section.
To use 'Upload Statement Transactions', you must set up the mapping for your Bank Feed Upload File in TASS.web Finance > General Ledger > Setup Information > General Ledger Setup on the 'Bank Accounts' tab.
See 'How to Set up Bank Feeds and Reconcile Statements' for more information.
Important!
Before uploading statements for account reconciliation, ensure all other tasks have been completed by following the Bank Reconciliation Guide.
To upload a new statement transaction:
Download statement transactions from your bank, ensuring you select only a date range that has not already been reconciled.
Follow the instructions on the screen to ensure the file type is CSV and matches the account's mapped format: dates are formatted in DD/MM/YYYY, and transaction amounts do not include dollar signs. Select the ‘File includes Header Row’ checkbox if your file includes a header row, then drop your file into the ‘Upload’ field or click ‘+Choose’ to locate the file on your computer. Then select 'Next' to display the transactions from the upload file onto the 'Upload Statement Transactions Review' screen.
Bank Feed Upload File Mapping is done in TASS.web Finance > General Ledger > Setup Information > General Ledger Setup on the ‘Bank Accounts' tab, by clicking ‘Mapping’ in the Actions column.
The 'Upload Statement Transactions Review' screen displays the statement transactions from your uploaded file. All the transactions are ticked by default, and you should not untick any of these.
Each upload transaction is checked to see whether an existing transaction with the same Date, Amount, and Description already exists.
If there is, a 'Duplicate' warning will be displayed in the 'Import' column, with a hover-over to show the existing transaction. These will not be ticked by default; change them only if you are certain they are not duplicates.
If there is a date gap between the last uploaded transaction and the first transaction date in your Upload File data, there will be a warning displayed at the top right with a hover-over "There is a gap between the last transaction (dd/mm/yyyy) and the uploaded transactions". If there are genuinely no transactions during the gap, it can be ignored. You should review the date range used when downloading transactions from your bank.
If there are any issues with the CSV file, an Exception Report will be produced outlining what needs to be corrected before the upload can proceed.
Ensure the only transactions that you want to import have the checkbox selected in the ‘Import’ column, then select ‘Save', then 'Yes' to confirm that you want to complete the upload of these statement transactions.
A ‘Transactions Uploaded Successfully’ message will then appear on screen, and the 'Reconcile Statement Transactions’ screen will automatically open.
Reconcile Statement Transactions
Use the ‘Reconcile Statement Transactions’ screen to complete the Bank Reconciliation.
This screen is accessed from the hamburger menu in the Bank Account Summary or by clicking the ‘click here to reconcile’ link below the Statement Balance (available when there is an incomplete Bank Reconciliation). It will also load automatically after statement transactions have been uploaded using the ‘Upload Statement Transactions’ screen.
The left side of the screen will list all the uploaded statement transactions (since your last completed Bank Reconciliation). The right side of the screen is used to match existing Cash Book transactions (Cash Book Journals, Banking Totals and Cheques) to each statement transaction on the left side.
When you load the screen, it will look for Cash Book transactions that match each statement transaction. The left side displays all statement transactions, and the right side shows any possible matches found.
When a unique match is found, its details will be displayed on the right side, shaded in blue, with a green ‘OK’ button to accept the match. There will also be a ‘Search Transactions’ button to search for alternative matches.
Where more than one match is found, the text “N possible matches found” is displayed with a link to view them. Clicking this link will display the details of these matches. You will be able to select the matching record and use 'OK' to accept.
Where no matches are found, there will be a ‘Search Transactions’ button to search for Cash Book records (and Cheques if it is a Spent/Debit type), and a ‘Add Cash Book Journal' button to manually add a Cash Book Journal for the transaction.
Clicking the ‘OK’ button will create a Cash Book Journal for this Statement Transaction using the matching Bank Rule. To undo the match, click the ‘Unmatch’ button.
Use the ‘Search Transactions’ button to:
Search for Cash Book transactions
Select more than one Cash Book transaction to match with a statement transaction.
Split a Received/Credit Cash Book transaction using the 'Split' link. This option is only available for the following types:
BP: BPAY (Parent Accounts)
CD: Cash or Cheque Deposits (Parent Accounts, Commercial Debtors, School Shop)
ED: EFTPOS Deposits (Parent Accounts, Commercial Debtors, School Shop)
WP: Web Payments (Account Payments via the Web), e.g. Parent Lounge and/or Electronic Receipt uploads.
Coming Soon!
From v01.2026.06.200 onwards, you will be able to split a Spent/Debit Cash Book transaction using the ‘Split’ link for Electronic Payments (EP) made through the Accounts Payable module. Refer to the TASS Release Notes for more information.
Use the ‘Add Cash Book Journal' button (plus icon) to manually add a Cash Book Journal for the transaction, as in TASS.web Finance > General Ledger > Cash Book > Bank Charges and Credits without leaving the ‘Reconcile Statement Transactions’ program. When creating a Cash Book Journal in the Bank Accounts Dashboard, TASS automatically matches it to the corresponding Bank Feed item.
Use the drop-down filters in the top-left corner of the screen to refine the transactions displayed on the 'Reconcile Statement Transactions' screen.
Filter | Description |
|---|---|
Transaction Cut-off Date | The ‘Transaction Cut-off Date’ filter will display the dates (in descending order) of statement transactions uploaded since the last completed Bank reconciliation. These are transactions not linked to a completed Bank Reconciliation. Use this filter where transactions for multiple dates have been uploaded, and you want to reconcile one day at a time. |
Status | The ‘Status’ filter allows you to select one of these 3 options:
You must select 'All Transactions' to be able to complete a Bank Reconciliation. |
Using Bank Rules when Reconciling
When a transaction from your financial institution matches a bank rule using the Matching Conditions you defined in the Bank Rule, the right-hand details panel turns light blue and displays 'Bank Rule match found'.
Set up bank rules by navigating to the ‘Bank Rules' screen, accessible from the hamburger menu in the Bank Account Summary of the relevant bank account. See the ‘Bank Rules’ section below for more information.
Clicking 'OK' will confirm that a Cash Book Journal will be created based on the GL Account Distributions setup in the Bank Rule, and accepting this will create the Cash Book Journal and automatically match it to the corresponding Bank Feed item.
You can select ‘{Bank Rule Name} - click to view' to view the Bank Rule and the resulting Cash Book Journal that will be created. From this screen, you can also select individual rules to be applied using the checkboxes at the end of each row. Clicking the 'OK’ button will then create a Cash Book Journal for this Statement Transaction using the selected Bank Rule.
After a Bank Rule has been applied, the right-hand details panel turns green and displays the date, Cashbook Journal and other transaction-related details.
Completing a Bank Reconciliation
When all statement transactions for the selected Transaction Cut-Off Date have been matched, and the 'All Transactions' option is selected, there will be a green shaded banner at the bottom of the screen with the message "All transactions have been reconciled!"
You will now be able to complete the Bank Reconciliation by:
Reading the IMPORTANT notice in the green-shaded banner
Verify the Closing Statement Balance displayed by ticking the checkbox
Click the 'Complete Bank Reconciliation' button.
A message confirming the statement transaction has been successfully reconciled will briefly appear before returning you to the ‘Bank Accounts Dashboard’ screen.
Bank Rules
Use the ‘Bank Rules - Cash at Bank’ screen to save predefined conditions that will trigger a Cash Book Journal to be created in defined GL Accounts when completing a bank reconciliation.
This screen is accessed from the hamburger menu in the Bank Account Summary section of the bank account that you want to create the rules for.
The ‘Rule Type’ filter in the top-left corner lets you filter rules by ‘Spent/Debit’ or ‘Received/Credit’ transaction types.
The Bank Rules grid on this screen summarises the bank rules set for the account based on your selected filter criteria.
Use the icons in the action column to ‘View’, ‘Edit’ or ‘Delete’ existing rules.
To create a new rule, click the ‘+New Rule’ button.
