Disability Processing (Aus)

This grid is a legacy system grid used to facilitate the bulk creation of new Learning Support records. It can no longer update pre-existing records or have information from the Learning Support module populate in this grid.

All Learning Support / NCCD information can be managed and exported from the Staff Kiosk Teacher > Learning Support program.

Overview

This program provides a tool to:

  • Enter disability data against multiple student records using a data grid

  • Generate an export file in a CSV format that can be imported into the Australian Government Department of Education's Schools Service Point (SSP).

  • Generate a report of the disability data that you have entered through this program.

This program will render the data into a spreadsheet-style of grid where it can be modified quickly within columns. The disability columns available for editing are:

  • Physical.

  • Physical Adjustment.

  • Cognitive.

  • Cognitive Adjustment.

  • Social.

  • Social Adjustment.

  • Sensory.

  • Sensory Adjustment.

To view this program, permission must be granted using the 'Disability Processing (Aus)' security point (located under the section Student Records). Refer to System Admin > Users > Security Role Permissions.

General Tab

Fields from the 'General' tab can be used as selection criteria to filter the data that will be included in the Disability Processing grid. These tabs are similar to those displayed in Student Admin > Student Records > Student Information > Students.

User Defined Tab

Use the fields on this tab to further filter the students who will be included in the Disability Processing grid.

Process Tab

The fields that will load in your Disability Processing grid are fixed. They are listed in the 'Field Selection' panel.

By default, the records will be sorted by student Surname.  You can change this to sort by Student Code or Year Group by selecting the radio buttons on the left of the screen.

Click the 'GO' button to produce your grid.

When the grid is populated, data will be displayed within columns.

To sort by a column, click on the column heading. To sort by multiple columns use shift-click in the second and subsequent columns that you want to sort by.

A suggested methodology for entering data if you are using the Disability Processing grid for the first time:

  1. Enter 'No' in the first cell for the 'Physical' column and use the 'Fill Down' button to replicate that down the entire column.

  2. Repeat the process for the 'Cognitive', 'Social' and 'Sensory' columns.

  3. Select 'Save' to commit your changes to the database.

  4. Change the 'No' to a 'Yes' in the 'Physical' column where applicable for individual students. This will force you to make a mandatory selection in the associated 'Physical Adjustment' column for that student. Use the dropdown list to select the appropriate 'Physical Adjustment'.

  5. Repeat the process for the 'Cognitive', 'Social' and 'Sensory' columns.

  6. Select 'Save' to commit your changes to the database.

If you make a mess, use the 'Restore' button to undo your changes. Unsaved data will be lost.

  • The data will be restored back to the last 'Save'.

  • If you have not yet saved, the data will be restored back to the way it was when you loaded the Grid.

Create Learning Support Records

Use the ‘Create Learning Support Records’ button to transfer/migrate any existing data into the Staff Kiosk program Teacher > Learning Support.

To create a Learning Support Plan for each student displayed in the Disability Processing Grid, click the 'Create Learning Support Plans' button.

Once created these plans can be accessed via the Staff Kiosk program Teacher > Learning Support

Click the 'GO' button to proceed.

Click 'Cancel' to return to the Disability Processing Grid.

Important!

If a student already has a Learning Support Plan, a new plan will not be created for them. Click the 'Exceptions' button to view a list of these students.

Export

The ‘Export’ option is legacy functionality. It does not pull up-to-date Learning Support records, only legacy information entered in the Disability Processing Grid.

All Learning Support / NCCD information can be managed and exported from the Staff Kiosk Teacher > Learning Support program.
