Can you temporarily restrict parent and student access to timetables?

To prevent Parents or Students from seeing new class and timetable information while year-end or semester-end rollovers are being processed, we recommend removing permissions to view the timetable in Student Cafe and Parent Lounge until this information has been finalised by the school.

These permissions can be removed in TASS.web System Admin > Users > Portal Security Permissions.

Timetable-related Student Cafe Permission Points

The following Student Cafe permission points could potentially show student class/timetable information:

  • Blogs

  • Calendar (eDiary)

  • Class List

  • Learning Management System

  • Timetables

Timetable-related Parent Lounge Permission Points

The following Parent Lounge permission points could potentially show student class/timetable information:

  • Curricular Activities

  • eDiary

  • General Details (will display Form Class and PC/Tutor Group)

  • Email Class Teachers

  • Timetable

After temporarily removing these permission points, verify their removal by ghosting in as a Student and a Parent.

The Student CafeGhost Logon’ function is available in TASS.web Student Admin > Student Records > Student Information > Students on the 'General' tab.

The Parent Lounge Ghost Logon function is available in TASS.web Student Admin > Parent Records > Parent Information > Parents on the 'General' tab.

Then, when you are ready for students and parents to view the timetable and class details for the new year or semester, reactivate these permissions.
