Can I change a student's default attendance status from 'present' to 'absent'?

Each student’s attendance defaults to ‘Present’ when the Mark Roll screen loads. You cannot change the default Student Attendance Status for roll calls in Staff Kiosk Rollcall > Class Rollcall.

With Custom Rolls, you can set the default attendance status for marking custom rolls. The default can be set up in the ‘Default students to' field located in Staff Kiosk Rollcall > Custom Roll Parameters (Setup).

You can mark students absent in bulk using the Bulk Absentee Entry program in TASS.web Student Admin > Attendance > Student Information > Bulk Absentee Entry. However, teachers cannot change a student’s attendance status from ‘Absent’ to 'Present' in Staff Kiosk after this; only TASS.web allows deleting the absence to restore attendance.
