Assign Security Roles
Overview
The ‘Assign Security Roles’ program is located in the TASS.web System Admin > Users menu.
From this program, you can assign individual users (as set up in TASS.web System Admin > Users > User Maintenance) against Security Roles (as set up in TASS.web System Admin > Users > Security Role Permissions).
Once the users have been assigned to a role, they will inherit the permissions set up for that role.
A user can be assigned multiple security roles. When this occurs, the user will inherit a combination of the permissions from all assigned roles.
The screen can be operated by either:
Selecting the user and assigning one or more roles.
Selecting the role and assigning one or more users.
Select the User and Assign Roles
To assign role group(s) to a user, select the user from the ‘Select a User’ drop-down list. In the ‘Unassigned Security Roles’ section, click the roles to assign, then use the ‘Selected’ icon to move them to the ‘Assigned Security Roles’ section. Then, click ‘Save’.
To unassign a role from a user, move the role from the ‘Assigned Security Roles’ section to the ‘Unassigned Security Roles’ section using the ‘Selected’ icon, then click Save.
The ‘Unassigned Security Roles’ and 'Assigned Security Roles’ sections are both multi-select fields. Holding down the 'Shift' key while clicking on your options enables a range selection; holding down the 'Ctrl' key allows individual selection of additional fields.
