Academic Results – Student Profile

Overview

This program allows you to produce a report that can be used to:

  • Track students' academic performance for subjects, across multiple reporting periods.

  • Calculate Grade Point Averages (GPAs).

By using the export to Excel® option, this report can also provide a tool to:

  • Analyse students' academic results from year to year.

  • Create an upload file of GPA results for inclusion in Academic Reports.

The report can be run for:

  • A single student.

  • A group of students within a specific Year Group.

Step 1

Student Selections

To run this report for an individual student, enter a 'Student Code' or use the 'Students' lookup to find a student.

Once a 'Student Code' has been entered, the other fields in this section of the screen will be disabled.

To run this report for students (or a group of students) within a year group, select a 'Year Group' from the drop-down list.

You can use the remaining fields in this section of the screen to further filter the students that will be displayed in your report.

Sort Students By

Sort the order in which student records are displayed by nominating your preference for 'Surname', 'PC tutor Group/Surname' or 'House/Surname'.

Link Subjects By

Non-Unitised Timetable

If your school is running a non-unitised timetable it is likely that the subject codes will be the same for subjects across year levels.

For example, English has a Subject Code of 0001 and that subject code is used for multiple year groups.

Subject Code

Subject

Year Group

0001

English

8

0001

English

9

0001

English

10

In this scenario, you would run the report with the default 'Link Subjects By' = 'Subject Code'.

Unitised Timetable

If your school is running a unitised timetable, you will have a different subject code for each subject and year group combination.

For example:

Subject Code

Subject

Year Group

0001

English

8

0002

English

9

0003

English

10

In this scenario, you need to let the program know how these subjects are linked so that it can include a student's academic results across year levels.

Andy Clark studied English in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and the subject codes were:

Subject Code

Subject

Year Group

Year of Study

0001

English

8

2010

0002

English

9

2011

0003

English

10

2012

The following options are available to do this:

1

Subject Area

Use this option if your school has set up 'Subject Areas' to link a subject with different subject codes together.

For example:

Subject Code

2

Subject Export Code

Use this option if your school has set up an 'Export Code' to link a subject with different subject codes together.

The subject export code is used by Queensland secondary schools for reporting to the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Autority (QCAA).

For example:

Subject Code

Subject

Export Codes are set up in TASS.web Student Admin > Student Records > Setup Information > Student Records Setup on the 'Subjects' tab.

3

Subject Sort Code

A subject's 'Sort Code' is used to determine the order in which subjects are displayed on Academic Reports.

Use this option if your school uses the same 'Sort Code' for a subject that has multiple subject codes.

For example:

Subject Code

Subject

Year Group

Sort Code

0001
