CP - Associations
Community Plus provides a facility for recording associations that people have with other people within your Community database. Associations are non-family based relationships and are used to associate people together such as Business Partners, Friends or Known to etc.
You should not use associations to record family-based relationships such as Cousin or Uncle etc. Using Associations for these types of relationships will severely limit the ability of Community Plus to derive relationships between people.
You can view or maintain a person association by clicking the 'Association' icon or 'Associations' link from the following places.
The 'Person Search Results' page.
The 'Person Record'.
The 'Person Relationships' page (View and Edit).
The 'Person Merge' page.
Once within the 'Person Associations' screen for a person, the system will display the associations currently recorded for that person.

The 'Association' name contains a hyperlink to Person Surf across to that Person's record. The 'Association' description contains a hover over to display the association comment (if one is present).
To add a new Association, click the 'Add' button.
If you know the 'Person Number' of the person you wish to associate, then enter it into the 'Person Number' field, the system will display their details to ensure you have the correct person. If you do not know the 'Person Number' then you can use the 'Binocular' lookup option to find the person.
When associating people together in Community Plus, the system provides an optional 'Association Tag' and 'Comment' to provide more on the association.
An example of an association tag is 'Former', which could then be added to the association of 'Business Partner' to provide a total association of 'Former Business Partner'. The comment field could then be used to record details regarding the business they were involved in.
Before you can create associations between people, you must create association types within the Community Plus program Setup Information in 'Associations'.
To 'Edit' or 'Delete' an association between two people, use the respective action buttons available on the screen.
Be careful when deleting associations. Associations that are deleted by accident cannot be undeleted.
Associations are also available on the 'Person Relationship Report' which is available within the 'Person Relationships' screen.
