BOR - Update Boarders Residence
This program provides a quick way to move the data in the 'Next Year Residence' field into the current 'Residence' field on the boarders' master records. It is therefore used to facilitate the annual roll-over of students from one dormitory into another.
Important!
This program will not update a boarder record where the 'Next Year Residence' is null. Therefore it will not overwrite the current year 'Residence' field with blank data.
'Next Year Residence' and current 'Residence' fields are also available in the data grid available through program Student Admin > Boarders > Boarder Information > Boarders Grid Entry. This provides an alternative method for updating these fields in a bulk mode.

Include students currently in Year 12 | In most cases, you would leave this set to 'No'. Because current year 12 students will be exiting the school, there is no need to change their residence information. |
Clear Next Year Residence field | If you change this to 'Yes' this field will be set to null (blank) for all boarders. |
Click on 'GO' to commence the update program.
