What are Communication Rules?
Communication Rules are a student-centric method used to define how different areas of a school communicate with parents. They are particularly useful for managing communication with split families and families with students who have multiple parenting arrangements. These rules help ensure that the right information reaches the appropriate guardians or parents, taking into account various family dynamics and arrangements
For example, they specify which addresses receive absence notifications, which addresses teachers can access in Staff Kiosk, which parent(s) receive Correspondence and Academic Reports, which parent(s) the student lives with, and who to contact in emergencies.
Data security and privacy must guide decisions on granting access to communication rules.
Refer to Setting Up Communication Rules for more information.
Communication Rules for each Student can be defined in TASS.web Student Admin > Student Records > Student Information > Students on the ‘Addresses and Comm. Rules’ tab.
