Creating a New Thread
Each forum can have multiple threads. A thread on a forum is effectively a topic.
From the 'Discussion Forums' screen click on the 'Forum Title' for either a class-based or custom forum.
The program will display a list of existing threads for the forum.
Each thread record will display:
The thread title
The author of the thread (this could be you, a student who has access to the forum or another teacher)
The date created
The number of posts for each thread
The date of the last post
An indicator to show if a thread is locked. If a forum is locked, students or teachers can't post against it.
This is an example of a 'Discussion Forums > Subject Class' screen displaying threads:
Click on a thread title to view the posts for that thread.
Click the 'Edit' link to modify the thread title or to lock/unlock the thread to stop/allow other users (students or teachers) posting against the thread.
Click the 'Delete' link to remove a thread from student and teacher view.
Click the 'Create New Thread' button to create a thread for a forum.
Click the 'Refresh' button to reload the screen to view new threads and posts.
