Why are Students missing from the Census?
The missing student(s) may not need to be included in your Census return. Schools are responsible for making this decision based on their understanding of reporting obligations and employee data. TASS cannot advise on whether the student(s) should be included in government returns.
There is expected to be a difference between the Census report and your current totals, as not all students may be valid for your census return. Your filtering options may also exclude certain students.
If students are not included in the Student Census Data Extract, it may be due to the following reasons:
The program filtering options may be excluding them. Check your filtering options to ensure you have not excluded the student using the filters.
The student may have an incorrect Residency Status, no Residency Status set on their Student Record, or the Residency Status set for them has incorrectly been flagged as not to be included in the Census.
The student may have the ‘FFPOS’ field set incorrectly on their Student Record.
The student may have been absent from school for the entire selected census date range. Students absent during the census date range will be excluded from the listing. Those who do not attend school during the selected dates are not counted in the Census.
