Payroll Awards Overview
An 'Award' in TASS.web payroll can be defined to cover a number of possible scenarios including:
An actual industrial award (e.g. Teachers, School Officers).
A group of similar awards.
An award equivalent.
When considering the awards that you will need to set up in TASS.web you should consider common entitlements as the determining factor. Possible entitlements include sick leave, annual leave, long service leave and leave loading.
The steps involved in setting up an award are:
Determine the awards that you will require based on common entitlements.
Refer to the document 'How to Implement Leave Accruals'.
Create the award code and description using this program.
Link the award calculation rules to the award using TASS.web program Payroll HRM > Payroll > Setup Information > Award Calculations.
Adding an Award
To add a new Award, click the 'New Award' button to display a blank 'Award Details' screen.
When satisfied with your entry, click the 'Save' button to commit your changes to the database or 'Cancel' to return to the selection screens.
Viewing and Editing Awards
To 'View' or 'Edit' an Award, click on the associated link next to the relevant Award.
When satisfied with your entry, click on the 'Update' button to commit your changes to the TASS.web database.

Full Time Hours/Days | Enter the hours/days that a full-time employee works in a pay period. The table below is an example based on a 38 hour week:
It would be unusual to have to change this. However, if it is necessary to make a change please be aware that this is an extremely important parameter used by the system for many critical calculations including leave accruals, superannuation, tax calculations etc. You should fully understand how your award rules work before attempting a change here. |
