How do I register my Single Touch Payroll SSID with the ATO?

What's Changing?

As part of the Australian Taxation Office’s (ATO) efforts to strengthen data security, all businesses reporting Single Touch Payroll (STP) data through a Sending Service Provider must notify the ATO of this arrangement. This is done by registering a ‘Software ID (SSID)’, a unique identifier issued by OZEDI (TASS's STP gateway provider) with the ATO.

What do you need to do?

  1. Obtain your SSID from TASS. If your school uses TASS Payroll, you will need to raise a support request with the TASS Customer Care team requesting your school's SSID key.

  2. Register your SSID with the ATO via Access Manager. Once you have your SSID, you will need to register it with the ATO using Access Manager. From ‘My hosted software services', use the search field to find OZEDI and select the ABN link. From here, you can enter your SSID. Ensure you read the notification statement and select save before exiting. See the ATO Instructions for more information.

When does this need to be done?

TASS strongly recommends completing this registration by the end of May 2026 to ensure there are no disruptions to your STP submissions ahead of the 30 June 2026 deadline.

If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please don't hesitate to reach out to TASS Customer Care.
